The annual National Eating Disorder Awareness (NEDA) Week is coming up in a few days. This year’s NEDA week theme is “It’s Time To Talk About It” and I agree. I talk about my history of disordered eating, amenorrhea, and recovery—which started with a series of posts during NEDA week last year. Being open about that story has shaped a lot of how the past year has gone for me, changed how my career has evolved, and introduced me to some kickass women. But you have to talk on your own time. You have to be ready to talk. No one can force that readiness on you, not even a whole week of other people talking about it.
I have a few thoughts on what I’d like to share with you next week, but I’m also curious what you want, or need, to hear. So I set up something where you can add your question(s), thought(s), or even share your story—if you feel like you need somewhere to share it, but aren’t sure where that “somewhere” should be yet. (Don’t worry, nothing will be published without your consent! Not one single thing.)
Talk About It, just between you and me.
Fill this out and let me know what you want to talk about, or want me to talk about, next week. You can ask a question, share a thought, or just say “I want to talk, but I don’t know where to start.” That’s a start. I’m all ears!
