Currently working on...

Heather co-founded the Lane 9 Project (L9P), with Alexis Fairbanks, to share the stories and experiences of athletes who struggle(d) with disordered eating, eating disorders, and body dysmorphia. L9P is working to reduce Relative Energy Deficiency in Sport (REDS), and to keep more female-bodied athletes in the game(s). Heather is both a Running Coach through Lane 9, and leads their initiatives in Ann Arbor MI.

Nationally, Lane 9 hosts community events, coach and team trainings, and curates a supportive online and in-person network for active individuals. Their work has been featured in the Washington Post and NBC News.

Weight Inclusive Nutrition and Dietetics (WIND) served as a professional collective of inclusive dietitians and allied healthcare providers. From 2018 to 2024, Heather directed and oversaw all operations for over 100 hours of weight inclusive professional development and continuing education for its members and community, and opened the first-ever weight inclusive professional membership for registered dietitians. WIND worked to support a paradigm shift, making inclusive care the norm in the healthcare system.
